Kitchen Assistant

Location: Homegrown Hotels Head Office, Lyndhurst, Hampshire.

Salary: £13 per hour.

Hours: 10am - 2pm, 4 days per week, Mondays - Thursday.

Are you passionate about good food, high standards, and creating a welcoming environment? We're looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant or Chef to join our friendly team at Clayhill Head Office in Lyndhurst.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone seeking a part-time role with sociable daytime hours and no evening shifts. You'll play a key part in preparing and delivering a fresh, self-service lunch offering for our Head Office team while maintaining excellent hygiene and food safety standards.

What You'll Be Doing

Preparing the kitchen and service area ready for lunch each day.
Preparing and presenting food in line with the weekly menu.
Making sure soup and other hot food items are ready for service.
Safely cooling, labelling and storing leftover food.
Preparing and packaging food for weekend team members.
Maintaining a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen environment.
Managing stock rotation, food labelling and date checking.
Reporting any stock shortages, equipment issues or food safety concerns.
Assisting with food orders and general kitchen duties as required.

What We're Looking For

Previous experience in a kitchen, catering or food-service environment.
A good understanding of food hygiene and health & safety procedures.
Someone who takes pride in keeping a kitchen clean, organised and efficient.
Ability to work independently and manage daily tasks with minimal supervision.
A positive, reliable and flexible approach to work.
A genuine passion for food and hospitality.
